I'm a Postdoctoral Fellow at the GRavitation AstroParticle Physics Amsterdam (GRAPPA). Previously, I was a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellow at the Theory division of the Institute for High Energy Physics (IFAE) of Barcelona, and before I did my PhD at the strong gravity group of CENTRA-IST in Lisbon. My work focuses on strong gravity, black hole physics, and gravitational waves. I'm especially interested in the interplay between strong gravity and beyond the Standard Model physics, and in using precision gravitational-wave astronomy to learn what makes up dark matter. All observational evidence for dark matter comes from its interaction with gravity. By connecting us to the most extreme gravitational fields in the Universe (in the surroundings of black holes and neutron stars), gravitational waves offer us the most promising way to shed light on the long-standing problem of the nature of dark matter.
